My first blog

I want to tell you about the last book I read: Quiet, Please: Dispatches from a Public Librarian by Scott Douglas. The author describes how he fell into a career as a librarian because he worked there while attending college. He was encouraged by a co-worker to apply for a grant funded by the city of Anaheim. Thus, he became a professional. My career began in a similar way. I took a job as a clerk after graduation. I enjoyed what I did, but I wanted to take it to the next level. So, I attended grad school, earned my MLS, and began my professional career. Although my experiences don't always match those of the author, much of what he writes is familiar. If you get a chance, "check it out."
